Who was invited? This was a free event organised by the Volunteer Centre Bath and beyond is open to all local third sector organisations.
At the event the large group of experts o answered hot topic questions and provided
free advice for you and your organisation on social media, creative communications, website content development, and branding.
This was a fantastic opportunity to engage with a number of top professionals and meet with other members of the voluntary sector.
State of the Sector Survey 2016 - The Volunteer Centre Bath & North East Somerset
We asked the sector to help answer these questions, to raise them with commissioners and to influence the resources available to thir organisation, the purpose was to update our intelligence on voluntary and community organisations locally. To ensure your organisation’s public profile is made available to potential bidding partners and your details are included in our evidence for campaigning,
This was a free event aimed at smaller charities in the Bath and North East Somerset area who wanted support with developing their vision. The day was delivered by Bath-based organisational development experts FreeRiver Consulting, working alongside Bath Area Play Project, Business Connectors and the Volunteer Centre for Bath & North East Somerset.
This day was designed for key decison-makers within local charities who are responsible for setting and reviewing the organisation's strategy.
Attendees left the day with a clearer strategy for the next five years, alongside concrete actions to put in place to work towards their wider vision. During the morning session we explore the potential tensions between a charity’s purpose, its strategy and the requirements of its funders. The afternoon session we then got to explore a range of scenarios impacting upon the organisation's wider vision. September 2016
This free opportunity for members of the voluntary and community sector in Bath & North East Somerset allowing them to come together network, share information and ideas over lunch. The event will be held at The Bubble thanks to St John's Hospital.
For the past 4 years Zurich Community Trust (on behalf of the Zurich Life business in the UK) have been working in partnership with the University of Bath’s School of Management faculty with the aim of encouraging small teams of students to volunteer their time and/or skills in October and November to add value to local charitable organisations. They have developed this initiative with help from ourselves (Volunteer Centre Bath & beyond) , the Students’ Union Volunteer Office at the Univeristy of Bath.
For info, Zurich staff have engaged in these team-build challenge projects for over 20 years and a member of Zurich's staff who has already completed a successful challenge project will be mentoring each of the student teams.
The successful charities this year benefited for this amazing amount resources avaialble to them during November, and the winning team were Team Bath Gateway Out & About
