Could Peter help you?

We have just received an enquiry from Peter Popovic, who has an opportunity to spend 6 weeks on sabbatical next summer.  Apart from travelling with his family in the UK for 4 weeks, he would also like to spend 2 weeks volunteering. His primary goal is to do something good for any "group" of people and to gain experience of the country and local community whilst doing so.

His interests are diverse, but his main criteria for volunteering is that it involve contact with local people.

An example that he quoted from volunteering that he had done several years ago, helping older people, included:

  • Doing some walks
  • Accompanying them on shopping trips
  • Being a discussion “partner/befriender” and/or just listening
  • Helping with food related tasks

A little bit about Peter - “I have been working for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in IT for 17 years here in Switzerland. I live with my family (2 children 10 and 13 years old) near Basel where we have a pretty good football club called FC Basel (Manchester United. should remember!) I'm 47 years old and my hobbies are cooking, wine, ice hockey and travel”

He is available from June 18th - June 29th.

If you have something you would like Peter to volunteer with please contact either  mike.plows@vol-centre.org.uk or info@vol-centre.org.uk
